Caucus Clarification

I want to clarify the last email you received regarding the upcoming Taylor Township Trustee Caucus, since a few things have changed compared to past public office vacancies.

Short explanation: Receiving the public notice email does not mean you are eligible to vote in the caucus. Voting is limited to the 8 Precinct Committeemen in Taylor Township. Those 8 individuals will receive a separate notice via U.S. Mail, as required by party rules.

Long explanation: The email you received was the public notice I am required to publish, along with the same information provided to the media. In the past, you may not have received this notice because our new website wasn’t yet built. Now, whenever I publish a post, it automatically distributes to our email list and Facebook page. This ensures maximum visibility and helps us recruit the best candidates when a vacancy occurs.

Going forward, I will make the public notices easier to distinguish. Party rules require that PC’s be notified by U.S. Mail, but because mail can sometimes be unreliable, I also send a copy of the mailed letter via email (if I have the address). My goal is to make sure all PC’s are aware of their responsibility to attend and to help ensure the party selects the strongest possible replacement when vacancies arise.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions.

Thank you,

Jordan
