Stanley Ortman is serving his fourth term on the county council, and is a highly effective and experienced council member. Ortman has served on numerous other boards, including the Northwestern School Board and the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Board, giving him the experience needed to effectively govern the county. Ortman's goals in the past have included replenishing the city's rainy day fund, as well as keeping Howard County debt-free. Ortman prides himself on working closely with members of the council to maintain an efficient and financially solvent county government. Ortman has expressed that his number one priority is maintaining a fiscally sound yet effective county government.
